I just returned from a very beautiful wedding reception,a co-workers daughter and feel very sad that I am not at the vigil tonight.I went for the 30th and was destined to go this year, but my friend at work sad she would have been very insulted if I didn't go !! Well now I sit here watching it live,listening to ELVIS RADIO and feeling very upset. I need to be there. I just had to say that.Nothig will keep me from going next year!!!!REST IN PEACE Elvis.

yeah Elvis week is a very spaical time and memphis is a great city too.

I was there. It was very quiet in comparison to the 30th anniversary. Nowhere near as many people, but we had a nice evening for it. Took a long time to get up the drive and back though - security weren't ushering people along like they usually do and they were stopping to take pics and so holding up the queue!

It was nice to be there amongst like minded people. One big family!

So sorry you missed it Dina! Go for it next year!

I'm back in the UK now, and back at work. Reality ****s! I miss Memphis so much!

I missed going this yr.. I'm planning on the 35th anniv def.. and possibly this Jan for his what would have been 75th bday. Haven't been since 07.. I like the smaller E Week crowds, it's kinda nice when there aren't 10's of thousands everywhere you turn.

I need to go there one of these days. Like in the winter,,,I dont think I could handle the heat or the masses.

I can't think of any place I'd rather be than in Memphis during that week, Syd.. There’s nothing like it, everyone showing love and honoring this beautiful soul. It will bring you to tears. Being around others that feel the same as you do is very comforting. Winter @ Graceland is spectacular! Graceland all dressed up in lights just as E did it when he was alive.. man, it's a sight! The Christmas decorations stay up until his bday.. might even be snow on the ground.
