Hey, look what I found by READING a book, an actual quote from the Qu'ran.

5:67 Believers [Muslims], Jews, Sabaeans, or Christians - whoever believes in [God] Allah and the Last Day and does what is right - shall have - nothing to fear or to regret.

Muslims are not all out to get you, and they are not all taught to kill you - and only an ignorant, unread, unfeeling imbecile would think and/or say such things. Radical Muslims, radical Christians...radical animal lovers, radical hunters, radical gun owners, radical hippies...anyone who is so far left or so far right that they cannot see the center...
those people are dangerous, no matter whom they believe in, where they come from, what language they speak, what holy book they read, what politician they voted for. Murderers, thieves, liars - any religion can spawn such people...and if there were no religion, they would do it in the name of something or someone else. They'd find a David Koresh to worship, or a Jim Jones, and they'd commit all their atrocities regardless of whether you banned organized religion or not. They'd tell you their TV told them to murder anyone who didn't watch TV. They'd tell you their dog told them to murder cat owners. It'd still happen - people are people and what they choose to read into their faith - whether it's actually there or not - has nothing to do with said faith, and everything to do with the individual.

so true sweet Bree,if only we could handle it(religion)right..but our beliefs became some sort of weapon,we use to hurt each other, that's why I'm only interested in my own ways of finding the truth, even though I fall flat on my face time to time Razzer..I believe "the way" is within us.I'll keep on searching ..

politics will always have a hand in religion, and vice versa, and it will always be used to manipulate the faithful, we will just have to try to see thru the bullsheit to get to the truth.

A Pew Research Centerpoll released this week reveals that one in four young Muslims living in America feels that suicide bombings to defend their religion are just fine, thank you very much. So, how's that for a religion of peace? I guess the good news here is that three out of four younger Muslims, and about 80 percent of Muslims altogether, say that suicide bombings are not appropriate. Just the same, one in four is a pretty hefty number, especially when the the idea of defending their religion includes the act of killing people who draw cartoons of Mohammed or utter any negative comment of any nature whatsoever about Islam. Remember .. these are Muslims living in the United States, many of whom were born here. This would mean that the Muslims who support the idea of suicide bombings have been taught to think this way in their Mosques an in their associations with other Muslims. This is where homegrown terrorism comes from, the type of homegrown terrorism that has been showing up in England in recent years.

"Islam isn't in America to be equal to any other faith, but to become dominant. The Koran, the Muslim book of scripture, should be the highest authority in America, and Islam the only accepted religion on Earth."
----quote from Omar Ahmad, Chairman Emeritus, Council on American-Islamic Relations.

Kill those who disagree. Common denominator of the soldier and those of rogue faith. If we can all hate what we don't understand, and do away with it accordingly to cure our landscapes (our own or the kind we steal or have stolen from us)of cultures we find abrasive to our sensibilties , maybe we can love just as senselessly one day.No more lynchings, concentration camps, slavery, invasions, suicide or otherwise bombings, scalping,no more shock and awe or any other euphemistic undertakings...All religions are guilty of hate and radical answers to their hate.Religion should offer personal love and comfort, that doesnt come in the form of taking it from others along with the life force.Everyone is guilty. Now everyone should choose,to be part of the problem or part of the solution. No one religion will ever include all beings. No one religion will ever have all members of said religion in total agreement with eachoher. We can only "pray" for rogue love, day to day advancement of ..nirvana,karma,reward...yeah, it's all jaded,no?Even 'reward'?

wow, I rarely come to this part of the forum because I am not into politics, etc.. but this thread was very interesting... What got me here was that I just read this on google::

President Bush challenged Congress to another clash over the direction of the Iraq war yesterday as he asked lawmakers for $46 billion more to pay for overseas military operations and insisted that they approve it by the end of the year.

this world amazes me.. Roll Eyes
