Our world, as you see it in 25 years
Please post your view of how it be and do not be offended if it doesn’t agree with others view as everyone’s view and opinion is valued.

1] China will take over from the top down and become the world’s next super power if things don’t change here fast.

2] Other nations will start wars in the middle, such as Arab states, Korea, Russia etc…

3] The Spanish states will take over from the bottom up and the Presidents of their countries, who send many of them here, will claim victory and they will eventually get to play their Spanish national anthem here

4] Poor Americans and minorities will no longer care as it won’t really matter which dictator is in charge as their circumstances are likely to be the same.

5] Unless things change here in America in the next 25 years we will no longer be the super power of the world, that’s it in a nut shell.

South Korea's Roh, Under Fire at Home, Quiet on North Korea
July 6 (Bloomberg) -- South Korean President Roh Moo Hyun's defense, intelligence and foreign ministers will be grilled by lawmakers today over his muted response to North Korea's missile tests as the U.S. and Japan take a hard-line stance.

South Koreans waiting for news of North Korea's latest show of force had to wait seven hours yesterday before Roh's security secretary Seo Joo Seok confirmed multiple press reports. That was two hours after White House National Security Adviser Stephen Hadley briefed U.S. reporters and three and 1/2 hours after Japanese Chief Cabinet Secretary Shinzo Abe had made a televised address.

``South Korea is trying not to step on anyone's toes, whether they belong to North Korea or the U.S..'' said Lee **** Bok, a former assistant director at South Korea's National Intelligence Service who negotiated with North Korea. ``This has resulted in South Korea's isolation from the U.S.-Japan alliance against North Korea.''

North Korea test-fired seven missiles yesterday, including a long-range missile capable of reaching the U.S. The tests cap a torrid week for Roh, who replaced his finance, budget, tax and education chiefs on July 3, after his party was routed in local elections. Roh, who inherited the so-called ``Sunshine Policy'' of appeasement from former president Kim Dae Jung, has refrained from discussing penalties against the communist state.

``South Korea has cowed to North Korea since the Kim Dae Jung administration took over in 1998,'' said Lee Jung Hyun, vice spokesman for the main opposition Grand National Party. ``It's time we took a firmer stance, and begin considering economic sanctions, if necessary.''

Stalled Talks

Japan tabled a resolution at the United Nations yesterday calling for North Korea to halt its missile program and rejoin negotiations about the North's nuclear weapons. Talks have stalled since North Korea pledged in September to dismantle its nuclear arsenal in return for security guarantees.

``We hope the response of the council will be swift, strong and resolute,'' Japan's representative to the UN, Kenzo Oshima, said in New York. U.S. President George Bush ruled out bilateral negotiations with North Korea after the tests.

Lawmakers from the GNP and ruling Uri Party will question Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Ban Ki Moon, Unification Minister Lee Jong Seok, Defense Minister Yoon K**** Ung and other officials at the National Assembly today.

Lee told lawmakers on June 21 that the government may consider suspending new aid, such as North Korea's request for more rice and fertilizer, if North Korea fired any missiles. He ruled out the possibility of halting existing projects such as the Gaeseong Industrial Complex in North Korea, operated by South Korean companies, or tours to North Korea's Mount Geumgang.

Sunshine Policy

The projects are considered the crown jewels of former President Kim's Sunshine Policy, which resulted in the first ministerial-level talks between the two countries, more reunions for separated families and direct communications between their militaries to minimize confrontation. North and South Korea remain technically at war since their 1950-53 conflict ended without a peace agreement.

The success of the Sunshine Policy toward North Korea was clouded by Kim Dae Jung's admission in 2003, 11 days before the end of his term, that his government had helped Hyundai Group affiliates secretly funnel $500 million to the North to pave the way for a 2000 summit in Pyongyang.

``We don't deny the necessity for dialogue, for more open relations with North Korea,'' said the opposition party's vice spokesman Lee. ``We do object to South Korea's non-transparent discussions and backdoor deals with North Korea.''

Failed Launch

North Korea's tests yesterday included a failed launch of a Taepo**** 2 long-range missile, which U.S. officials said may be able to reach Alaska. The missile fell into the sea after 40 seconds, Hadley said.

Australian Foreign Minister Alexander Downer said North Korea may fire more short-range missiles. The communist state has prepared the launch of three or four Ro**** or scud missiles, which could be fired by July 11, the Chosun Ilbo reported, citing an unidentified South Korean government official.

Security Council members will resume discussions on a resolution at 10 a.m. New York time today. Japan's proposal asks governments to block money, goods and technology intended to support mass-destruction weapons programs in North Korea.

The U.S., China, Japan and South Korea last month told North Korea that testing a long-range missile may harm the six- nation talks on persuading the North Koreans to end their nuclear weapons program.

Sanctions

Japan will consider ``every type of sanctions possible'' against North Korea, including economic ones, Chief Cabinet Secretary Shinzo Abe said yesterday.

The White House said in a statement yesterday it will ``take all necessary measures to protect ourselves and our allies.'' South Korea's Ban said Roh's administration ruled out military action against North Korea.

``I think in the coming hours and days the South will talk tough about the North but I think that it will be reluctant to take any concrete steps to put a halt to economic cooperation,'' said Peter Beck, head of Northeast Asia analysis at the International Crisis Group in Seoul.

The Grand National Party will ask the Roh administration to take more concrete measures to ``ensure the safety of the Korean people,'' said the party's vice spokesman Lee. ``The South Korean government has to take measure to prevent its isolation from the U.S. and Japan.''
