In 1776 America celebrated Independence from British rule to be free
And every year we celebrate what that revolution meant to you and me
If there is to be a revolution.. the people must fight for the cause
There is no time to hesitate and pause
For the people know in their hearts that freedom must be achieved
There is no time to be timid or deceived
We will fight to the end because it is a message that we must send
To those who would hold us down and take away our human rights

So as we celebrate on the 4th of July...

I went to the Atlantic City show last night
And what I saw was out of sight
Madonna appeared from a Disco ball
And I have to say... the crowd was in awe
She then proceded to sing from her Confession
And the crowd erupted with unending obsession
Next came Madonna adorned on a cross
But the meaning to her motive did not seem lost
She brought to mind those dying of AIDS as she stepped down to the stage
Then with unbounded energy she sang... song after song
With Madonna as your entertainer you can't go wrong
She pranced around the stage and even rode on a pole
As Like a Virgin escaped from her soul
Yes, this was a show that pleased her fans and made them sweat
As she heated up the building with a feeling of being wet
I thank you Madonna, for a show well done
And for letting us escape into your world to have some fun
Your energy was felt by all
The moment you appeared from your crystal ball
So keep on touring and giving us your best
For we all look forward to what you will do next!

We all have our own journeys...Madonna is on hers under the constant scrutiny of the public...that's gotta be hard, folks. If you can, think back on some of your poorer "exercizes in judgment" in your individual "quests" to find yourself and imagine such blunders magnified under a public looking glass. I shudder at some of my own f-ups and HOPE those who knew about them will develope selective memory loss! To a degree, I have to agree with Daniel, in that Madonna is in a unique "position" (of a different sort!) to have positive influence on those who look up to her as a celebrity, but I'm not ready to commence Madonna-worship anytime soon...Daniel's doing a pretty good job of that on his own ...just messin' with ya a bit, Daniel...don't be offended!
