Recently Maher attacked the Pope and all Catholics as members of a cult of pedaphiles. He attacked 60 million people , put em all in one group and labeled them. Can you imagine if anyone canned, any other religion or race and said all of them are like this??!! Well, this fool has done just that, and this just shows that in reality , he is nothing more than a bitter,hateful regect of society, that to his fortune, has air time to sputter his contempt. I wrote HBO, and told them to cut loose this liabilty , before they lose 60 million viewers. What an arrogant,self-absorbed as.hole. In doing this, he is also attacking all Christians, because it is fundamently the same beliefs. He disregards all the good work that the Catholics do around the world, and makes everyone pay for the few rotten apples. There are bad people everywhere, and to label a whole group just because some are inherently bad is racist, illogical, closed minded and just plain hateful. If you agree, that putting all people in one ball and labeling them is contemptable, then write HBO. The good ones should not have to pay for the bad ones, stop the hater.

I heard him say that and couldn`t believe it. Where`s the groups at demanding his resignation or firing?!

That was my last stray with him. He needs to get over himself. There was no reason for him to do that at all.

It saddens me guys, to see that nothing seems to be happening about this. Very sad indeed.

As a Catholic, I'm not offended by what Bill Maher says. He, like many comedians, has made a career out of speaking the unspeakable. I don't personally take anything he means literally. For myself, it is problematic to put money in the collection plate when you know part of it will be used for the legal defense of pedophiles.

This is a huge blight on the Catholic Church and it has never been fully addressed. Clearly, evil is done to children every day, every hour in every country of the world, by people of all faiths and by people who have no faith, yet when you stand up telling or advising others how to live (a pope), the responsibility is greater to clean house and use your money and power for good, not evil.

As someone who has worked with se.xually abused children, I am finding it harder to be a Catholic.

I agree that there`s children in the world who are abused and neglected every day by people of all walks of life, by those who have professed faith in God and those who have no faith. I`m a Baptist at heart, but recently converted to Pentecostal. I love God with all my heart and enjoy my relationship with Him. I live my life by what I know my God wants from me and expects of me, I don`t let the actions of false prophets or liars deterr me.

so, you think he was joking, and this doesn't bother you??? Would you believe the same if he filled in another religion, or race if some in that group are bad people? He did say ALL CATHOLICS are pedaphiles, not just priests or the pope. HE said, the religion is a cult of PEDAPHILES, that's a quote, and he was dead serious. I may be digusted with priests, but I would never be embarrassed or ashamed to say I was Catholic. Sorry, but this really steams me. Perhaps if he too was Catholic, I wouldn't mind, but he is of another religion, and I do consider this an attack.

--------LisaJunkie...I understand what you`re saying. However, I don`t let it bother me as much I guess because the Christian faith is constantly being attacked by non-believers and that`s what I consider Bill Mahar.
It does bother me that no one is calling for his apology or resignation like they did with Imus.
