I don`t know very much about this topic right now. But with the small info I do have, my opinion is that this is a deal that I am not comfortable with as an American citizen.

First of all, he wasn`t even a Governor in 1991 so I highly doubt that any press person would have sought his opinion on world matters.

Secondly, G.H.W. Bush, decided not to invade Iraq in 1991 and not to support the shiites and Kurds toward the end of the Gulf War. At the time he said his goal was the removal of Iraq from Kuwait, not the removal of Saddam from Iraq.
