Why should I vote Democrat in the November election? What are the dems gonna do for this country? PLease give me a real, honest answer. Don't be like the liberal commentators on TV and just remind me about what an idiot GW is. I'd really like to know cuz I don't vote for the party I vote for the person. I want to be as informed as possible b4 the Nov election, but I honestly don't feel the dems will do anything better than the Republicans right now........peace

It really is futile to ask for a conservative to vote Liberal, anyways hopefully the nutball will be out in 2008, and maybe someone sane will be voted in.

That may be true LJ but the thing is, is that I'm not a conservative. I may lean more towards the right, but again, I don't vote for the party, I vote for the person. I was just trying to ask an honest question. Maybe that's what makes us different? I would seriously consider voting for a democrat (can't think of one right now. Can't think of a repub I would vote for either) but I get that you would NEVER consider voting for a conservative? No offense but your answer is about as clear as what I get from the peeps I see on TV. It's never about what the dems can do better, it's about GW being a nutball........oh well, I tried........peace *~It took me all my life To finally figure out That Im not in the mood To be anything like you*~ http://www.myspace.com/lmprulz |

I don't know what to say except to maybe watch the election race and weigh each candidate carefully. That's what I'm goin to do I think.

Simba, It's so sad that you're right. Politics is the art of spending money. I would have to vote for someone who is pro-environment. Bush thinks global warming is just a result of some hippie having a bad acid trip. Also, someone who can at least try solving problems diplomatically. The military is not the answer to every problem. Trouble is, I don't know who that person is. |

you are entitled to your interpretations of my answer, actually if I don't like the candidates, I don't vote, I don't want to be blamed for something I couldn't control. and perhaps you are right, if I thought about me and mine, money and big business, then I guess I would be able to vote conservative, but I'm for the people, and money is to help, not to bring down others, so I guess I am guilty of being a **** liberal, lol SEDUCTIVE God is like Scotch Tape you can't see Him but you know He's there |

I think it is impossible not to bring up the current administration and all its faults when talking about the next election. Do you think our county is better off now than during the last administration? I certainly don't! Like Quinn mentioned we need leaders that will use diplomacy in handling the very complex and difficult state of the world. I fully believe that had Al Gore won (which he did), we would not be in the mess we are today! We would not be in Iraq, which I can't imagine anyone still belives was the right thing to do. I merely brought this up to make a point, I am not stuck in the past. I belive we need leaders that will take global warming seriously and start caring about the environment. The Republican party has never been known for worrying about the environment. They are more interested in the oil companies and pleasing their big corporate sponsors. The Democratic party has always been concerned about the environment. The Democratic party is also in favor of raising the minimum wage, which is a complete outrage! How do they expect people to live on $5.00 and change per hour??? What about stem cell research? The Democratic party is in favor of advancing this research, not our fearless leader...sigh. If we can cure terrible deseases, of course we should try! What is all this focus suddenly on changing the constitution in the last couple of years? This president wants to write discrimination into the constition, I think that is shameful! Even the Vice Pres doesn't agree with him!! This is just off the top of my head, and I am sure I will think of other reasons. This country is in desperate need of a change! It is too early to say who the Democratic presidental nominee will be, but I strongly believe the first step is the November elections. We must change our government, just look at the state of affairs right now. Not good.

Hi Simba, seems like you agree with a lot of what the Democratic party stands for. As far as Clinton not getting Osama, I believe alot of this is the Republican/Fox News spin doctors trying to take the heat off the Pres. Also it is a known fact that Iraq had nothing to do with 911. We were told there were WMD's there. Not true. I believe this administration had an agenda to oust Sadam from the moment they took office. The terrorism that exists in Iraq only came about after we invaded them.We have only added fuel to the fire! I have never felt more unsafe than I do under this administration. It seems we have become the most hated country in the world. Just my opinion. We all know we cannot change the past, but we can change the future. And if there was ever a time for a change it is right now! Peace back at ya!

Hey betsy I didn't mean to insinuate that Iraq had anything to do with 9/11. I know Bush said that there were wmd's and they haven't found any, but my perception was that he used 9/11 to put focus back on Iraq and their lack of cooperation with the UN for the last 8 to 10 years? about letting the UN inspectors do their job. Regardless, Bush was wrong to invade Iraq, I just pray and I believe that we find a way to win............peace

Hi Simba,
I think that it's awesome that you want to be informed before you cast your vote. I wish more Americans would do the same. I suggest that you get up to speed on as much information as you can on all parties running. I would read liberal and conservative newspapers and listen to both sides on news programs and new shows. I think that it's funny to hear and read about what these people say. Try to listen with a critical ear - to wade through as the BS, double talk etc... I am particularly interested in immigration issues, tax issues, infringement of individual rights, and stem cell research to name a few. I don't like that the President has not always adhered to the separation of powers clause in the Constitution - he has overstepped by trying to get around the Supreme Court. Betsyb3 - What do you mean by "the President wants to write discrimination into the Constitution?" I haven't heard about that. LJ - Ifyou don't vote, people are still going to blame you b/c they will say you didn't do anything. "hopefully the nutball will be out in 2008" - the nutball will be out in 2008 - he can't run again! |
