You do know that food prices are rising around the world. If you're paying attention you will know that much of this is caused by the heavy subsidies the federal government pays to farmers who grow corn and maize for ethanol production. It has been several years since any new acreage has been planted in corn for food in this country. Well ... I just thought you might like to know just who it was in the United States Senate who broke a tie on a Senate vote to prevent an EPA mandate for ethanol. Louisiana Democrat Senator Bennett Johnson tried to prevent that mandate from becoming law. He said that American consumers would need a few extra bucks to pay for their corn flakes every morning if the mandate made it through.
Now .. here's what you don't know. The Senate was tied 50-50 on the bill to prevent the EPA from going forward with the ethanol mandate. The tie had to be broken, and it was, by the President of the Senate. The bill was defeated and the EPA was allowed to proceed with the mandate. That was 14 years ago. Now we have these increasing food prices. Who was the President of the Senate that broke the tie and led the way to ethanol mandates? So, he'd be doing his utmost now? To redeem his bad decision? Better late than never,Never's almost here.Woot. A lot of heroes are guilt driven. But, they still become heroes, no matter how dark their motivation.

To give you one more piece of information, take a look at this article printed in the Science Daily back in Aug. 8, 2001. Here is what scientists have known for years:
The approximately $1 billion a year in current federal and state subsidies (mainly to large corporations) for ethanol production are not the only costs to consumers, the Cornell scientist observes. Subsidized corn results in higher prices for meat, milk and eggs because about 70 percent of corn grain is fed to livestock and poultry in the United States Increasing ethanol production would further inflate corn prices, Pimentel says, noting: "In addition to paying tax dollars for ethanol subsidies, consumers would be paying significantly higher food prices in the marketplace." Back in 1994 when Al Gore cast the tie breaking vote in the Senate that led to a methanol mandate from the EPA we were told that "the price of corn flakes isn't going to go up by one penny." I lived through all of this in the seventies too, the gas lines, the ozone, etc....we're just experiencing the crisis end of the worries back then a little sooner than we thought. Along with oil etc, there are those who will find the chink in the armour and strategize how to make cash off the impending parnoia of those who are old they're doomed by someone supposedly in-the-know, because of news stations and media sensationalization. So, not only will we pay more for cornflakes out of necessity, we will continue paying more for cornflakes a little longer than we have to, because the money rolling in feels good.People love to take advantage and are extreme opportunists. So, no matter what the champion of global warming voted for whenever, there IS such a thing as global warming, manmade tradgedy or natural occurance, if we handle ourselves correctly make the right changes to get through this shift in the earth's workings, we'll make it, the thieves will thrive until the paranoid calm down and the monkey wrenches of politics and religion will be removed from the works (until the next issue there is to be blown out of proportion and utilized to soneones liking). Sometimes we need to blow things out of proportion and go all PETA on things, to get the every day joe even interested in saving his own keyster.Others do it just to sc.rew joe outta his paycheck. Al Gore is in Spiderman mode, he knows his Peter Parker mistake and wants to make up for getting his uncle killed by not responding when he should have. Would ya rip Spidey a new arsehole? I am just glad to be aware and the tiniest bit useful in the bigger pic.

It's all part of the plan, how better to control people than by controlling their food? Bush and the boys say the plan is going very well. War on Iran should be next, if I'm not mistaken.
