An absolutely incredible exchange during the debate on Wednesday night. This is the type of question that so infuriates left wingers. First Obama was reminded that when capital gains taxes are cut revenues to the government go up. Then he was reminded that when capital gains taxes are increased, tax revenues go down. Then he was asked in light of these statistics why he was promoting an increase in capital gains taxes. His answer? He said that he thinks capital gains taxes should go up out of fairness.

There you have it folks. Barack Obama believes that taxes serve purposes other than raising revenue for the legitimate operations of government. He also thinks that taxes should be used to make things more "fair." In other words .. to take from the people who are making too much money and give to the people who are making too little. Or, as some of Barack's communist heroes might say, "From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs."

Are you ready for a United States where politicians determine how much of the money you earn it would be fair for you to keep, and how much should just be taken and given to someone else?

If you are ... then Obama is your man!

you know dog ,the big gov. spending idealism is really tired ,the dems are on the mark about this though ,taxes should be paid according to income ,i'll giv'em that, but we need to have less gov. spending to get out of debt,it will not do any good to increase taxes. item:the ultra rich have to many''loop holes'' to cover their earnings ,this will rest upon the shoulders of AMERICAN working middle class, not the rich ,and sure as hell not the poor.if BUSH tax cuts go out the middle class is doomedthis is socialism 101,both hillary and obamas ideas cost millions. they live in a fools paradise.

after MR Obama latest gaffs, he seems to me to border on rascist and alittle manipulative. He says what ever the group he is talking to at the moment wants to hear, even if it is ripping the same people that are voting for him. He kinda scares me now.

The war will continue no matter who is elected.

I am not a Dem and therefore cannot bring myself to vote for either one of them, I would vote for a dem if I liked what any of them had to say, but I don't. I am not crazy for Mccain but out of the choices that's the best bet for me. We fall into a tax bracket that will totally affect us if the other two are elected. Sorry but to each his own.

I can't vote for someone based only on the war. Of course I want the war to end, but I am not going to vote for someone just on that issue. The think the same as you about the war.Taxes are a big issue to me and my family. I don't feel it is right to tax people for doing well. I also don't like Their healthcare approaches. Mainly Clintons. I have cr*appy ins but do not want what she is proposing.

UD, if you listened very closely he said he was going to give breaks to those making less than 75,000 a year but you gotta think about that, what he means is that taxes will increase on those who make more than that.

On another note, I really don't care for Obama, he has placed the racism card over and over. I cannot believe anyone would think that the Clinton's are racist. Its unacceptable to me. His remarks in the past, that he could get Hillary supporters to vote for him but his suporters won't support Hillary. I got news for him I will never vote Obama. I would vote for McCain first. At least he loves his country and has proven so.

This Reverend Wright ordeal has not sat well with me either. In my opinion, a church should teach love not hate.

Okay, thats my rant, lol.

No Obama 2008!

Howdy Michele. I do think Hillary's plan for healthcare makes since because you have so many people who don't have it and don't pay their bills. It happened here and hospitals are closing. Her plan allows people to buy into plans that our government gets, you won't be forced into a certain one. There will be choice and this will stop some of the people who beat the system. If we don't stop them beating the system we all have to pay for it. She is giving tax breaks so people can afford it.

As far as her tax plan to increase them for those that make over $250,000 makes since at this time. We have a huge deficit and need to become responsible again. We have to pay for the war. Things I have seen when we have republican presidents is our wages go down and we have less jobs. The idea that if the rich pay less they will create more jobs, I certaintly have not seen that during the Reagan, Bush I or Bush II years.

I don't like either democrats plan to bail out the people who are losing their homes. I didn't ask them to take a variable rate and I can't help that the interest rates went up. I have seen 10 foreclosures on my street alone, let me tell you they got bigger houses than me and better cars than me. I don't think we should have to bail them out. I am with McCain, let the markets work it out. If they cannot afford it then they shouldn't of gotten it in the first place.

So many people want this war to end, but people need to realize it will not end. They spin that they will but they won't. Too many risks to pull out the troops at this time. I even heard Obama in one debate said he was getting them out but if we have to go back we will. Geeze, why would you do that? Hillary wants a plan for withdrawal, she is not just going to yank people out.

Another theory I have seen since the republican presidents is if interest rates are lower the ecomoy will move, I don't think so. The home industry wins but it falls back to the same mess. The mess that people look for a bail out while buying things they shouldn't have. I argue that there should be tougher controls no matter what the rate is.

I will in no way vote for Obama, I will vote McCain first. They all want to say that McCain is just another Bush but that is not true. He is more moderate and that is what I like about him. Of course, Hillary is my choice!

10 foreclosures on my street alone,

I have a neighbour who lost his job and they put the house up for sell but because no one is buying houses they ended up loosing there house to the banks .

The bank is selling the house real cheep just to get this house sold .
Some of the blame goes to the bank for allowing people to get a loan knowing they don't make enough money , I also blame the economy because if you lose your job and you can't find another one or you don't make enough like you did before then your up the creek . I suggest people try to start saving there money for a rainny day if you can . Even if it's 10 dollars a week SAVE ! Wink

You make alot of sense Q,this last thing when he attacked peeps saying that they are bitter, and they turn to their religion and their guns??? What the hel.l was that??? That sounded so offensive, and bitter in it's self. Well, now we only have Hillary. I can't chose McCain cuz the war will rage on and thousands will die. We can not play baby sitter for Iraq, it will never work, they think way different than us, they are all about religion and sects. You can't govern that logically. Unfortunately that's why Hussein was so succesful in running a country like that, he ran it with an iron fist, and everyone stayed in line. We can NOT, win this war.
