Well.......errr I am 50/50 on this. Horses have always been "working" animals and helped the development of the US. I guess my next question would be what about Cops on Horses? Horses in Parades?

But I do see Pinks position on this also, what are you thinking?

I saw Pink on Conan last night talking about this and it really made me think. I love her passion for causes she believes in!!

what she say? I didn't see it......maybe if I heard her it would sway me more......? I am still sitting on the fence looking at both sides.

She talks about how some are abused by their owners. That they shouldn't be inhaling the fumes from all the cars and that leads to respiratory problems, and that walking on concrete leads to leg problems. I never thought twice about horse drawn carriages...but it does make you think!

Ok watched those links, Thanks for them. Well I am going to have to agree with Pink...err not peta at this point lol. because I am not sure I like Peta. But I have been to NYC and seen the horses actually in person,(didn't take a carriage ride) although it is a very romatic cutesy thing, those horses do look depressed and not taken care of very well. I am thinking that maybe if NYC doesn't want to get rid of the horses completely then they need to regulate the practice a bit more with down time, x amount of hours a week a horse can work...maybe donate some of their beloved Central Park to stables and roaming for the horses that is a tradition to ya know...to smell fresh horse manure in a pasture

I've always felt bad for the horses in developing countries but the way we treat them here is often just as bad. If you use animals to make money you should be held to a very high standard of animal care, which clearly isn't the case.
