I'm finally getting to vote for the first time...I'm a little nervous cuz I don't know exactly what to do when I get there...& I don't want to screw anything up...(I'm sure everyone remembers the Florida counting issue of the presidential election in 2000).

I'm stuck now cuz our Democratic candidates are more towards the conservative side anyway...it's frustrating...but I won't vote for someone just cuz they're D...I've been asking my family who stands for what issue but nobody really seems to know for sure...I think half the problem is sorting through the bashing & the bs!...& another big problem for me is the vagueness I'm receiving on certain issues.

I just wish for once everyone would come together and do more about getting eligible voters out there on election day to make their vote count. It's scary to know that today's youth (my generation!) is so apathetic!...& we're going to be running the country some day. It's completely insane. I think a lot would be different in this country if those elegible to vote would just get out there (in all generations).

I do have strong feelings about stem cell research (my brother in-law is a research scientist dude lol) & gay marriage...(a hot button issue between my gf & I as she is Canadian & leaves me no choice but to immigrate there if we want to have a family together for a variety of political & personal reasons) & immigration is very close to my heart because I've grown up in a very diverse community where there's many immigrants...from Mexico, Cuba, Haiti...(FL really is a melting pot! Especially Southern FL). Retirement & healthcare for elders isn't really on my mind..well because I'm just starting out in the world & yet it's all the candidates seem to concentrate on, leaving others in the dark. Everyone really needs to be represented or at least heard.

Well..that's my thoughts for tonight...
